A smattering of historical highlights:
1921 - Franklin D. Roosevelt was stricken with polio.
1928 Sausage maker, and I believe singer, Jimmy Dean was born. Sausage fat content attributes to the beginnings of obesity in America (or so I say).
1943 Hitler watches lynching of allied pilots
1961 Agent Orange is used for the first time in Vietnam by the U.S. Army.
1977 A 24-year old postal employee by the name of Newman David Berkowitz, AKA "Son of Sam," is arrested in Yonkers, New York
1978 Three Indiana teenage girls, all members of the Ulrich family, are killed when their 1973 Ford Pinto is rear-ended, bursting into flames. This accident led to the litigation against Ford Motor Company. In 1979, Ford sent the Urlichs a recall notice for the Pinto. Mercury changes slogan for similar vehicle to "Don't get burned. Buy a Bobcat." (or so I heard)
1984 Mary Decker trips on heel of Zola Budd during 3,000m Olympic run (kind of hilarious).
1985 - 2013 The world experiences pure bliss only to be ruined in...
2014 Thirty-nine people are killed in a plane crash at Tehran's Mehrabad airport.
2015 - Today. Wikipedia drops ball on their "reporting."
Have a great day!
