We interrupt this day for the following blog post.
Anyway, today I got a request for Corelli's Mandolin, a book I read more than a decade ago and which has been languishing in my "to swap" box since I joined the PBS back in 2010. So I go on-line to print the mailing label and lo and behold, the recipient lives in Martinez. Being the cheap swell guy that I am I said to myself, "Why not be a sport and deliver the book in person? Give them a treat by letting them meet me AND get their book immediately?" So I googled her address (PBS is great for stalking too, by the way) and added her to my errand list.
She was very excited to meet me and quite thankful that I took the time to hand-deliver the book. I even got a hug from the old dear while her husband leered at my long-ish hair and days growth of beard with suspicion. Probably had one hand on the baseball bat behind the door.
All's well that ends well. She got her book, I got my credit for another free book and her husband didn't have to try and defend his home from a marauding book lover.
As you were.
