As you may recall, Lisa and I had front-row seats for the 2006 nuptuials of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes.
And here we are, less than 6-years later, and word from on high is that the famous power couple will soon go their separate ways.
I've been a fan of Holmes since her role as Hannah Green in the big screen adaptation of Michael Chabon's Wonder Boys, even though the movie sucked ass in comparison to the book, so the split comes as no surprise to this reporter, because Cruise is a Scientology douchebag, and Katie seems to be a rather normal girl who has continually resisted the brainwashing of Tom and his cult. I believe that the split will benefit Holmes' career as she hasn't seemed to work much since wedding Cruise, the latter preferring her to remain barefoot and brainwashed.
I wish her well.

Good for her - his particularly ignorant and cruel remarks about women getting treatment for post-partum depression made me wince and choke for Katie. Heaven forbid she should be anything but perfect and perfectly happy - what a prison. If I had some wine, I'd celebrate with a toast to freedom for Katie.
