Oh, Joe! You and these TST posts are my Proust's madeleine...!
I used to go to bed ridiculously early as a child and this show must have been on at about bedtime. I'm pretty sure I never watched it.
However, I did apparently see the opening credits (delay tactics on my part, I'm sure) because for many years I used to beg to be allowed to watch "the show with the cat" (you know, because there are about 2 nanoseconds of cat in that opening sequence and I've always liked cats and my mother hated cats and I always wanted a cat and of course never got one). Obviously, my parents had no idea what I was banging on about. And I'd totally forgotten that entire (fascinating) glimpse into my past until now. I just had this vague feeling that the music (more familiar than the show itself) had something to do with cats...
So that's another mystery you've cleared up for me!
As I got older (and went to bed marginally later) my obsession turned to M*A*S*H, the theme song of which I could hear when I was lying in bed and I was determined that when I was grown-up I would stay up as late as I liked and watch all these "forbidden" shows...!

Hey Kirsty,
I'd post the M*A*S*H* theme but I can't find a decent video of it. They're all of someone video taping their TV, or weird collages,etc. Must be some sort of copyright issues. Glad you liked this one though.

That is a long one - must be the dance version. I had totally forgotten about the cat image in the previews. I loved that show. Tom Cruise shat upon its memory with his stupid movies of the same name.
