It's Tuesday, I think. No, it's Wednesday. I have a hard time keeping track of the days in summertime. Another busy week. The boy's in skateboarding camp this week. This is like his third time attending this camp. You'd think he'd have figured out how to ride a skateboard by now. Ha. Actually, he's learning new and exciting ways to possibly break some part of his 13-yr old bod. But he digs it and it gets him away from the X-Box and the TV and my face, so we encourage it. I wish the girl would engage in more outside activities. She's become far too addicted to her computer and her bedroom.
Next week both kids will be working as counselors at our church bible camp, so that will keep them occupied for the mornings at least. They've been attending bible camp since they were little guys and girls, first as attendees and now as counselors helping the little guys and girls. I'm glad they are still interested in doing it. Too often as kids enter their teen years they lose interest in that stuff. I'm actually sensing that the boy is not as keen on it this year, but once it begins he always has a good time He's very good working with the young ones and he gets to reconnect with all his friends from his old school. I hope they continue to enjoy it because I think it's a great thing for them, and they get a lot more out of it then they realize.
So anyway, back to ME. So the Gap gig has ended for now. It was a great experience and hopefully I'll be back in the coming weeks if I can rearrange the hours. The court gig needs me in the afternoons, so if Gap wants me they'll have to take me in the mornings. Now is a good time to take a short break anyway as we're supposed to be heading for Tahoe later this month. I say "supposed to" because I'm not going to be there most of the week. I don't have anymore vacation time so I'll only be there for the weekends. Kind of sucks but there's not much I can do about it. I think it's going to be weird for Lisa and the kids to be up there without me. I know it's going to be weird for me. I've been spending a week in Tahoe every summer for the past 10 years or so. Yet another downside to losing ones job.
Speaking of jobs, I need to be moving along. Ya'll have yourselves a swell Tuesday Wednesday.
Ciao.
