Checking in from the Sahara

Yea, still feeling slumppy, but now I think it's more a result of the heat wave.

(Boy admiring his 1st place medal)

But!– big doings this past weekend on the soccer front. The boy's team took first place in the season's final tournament. AND, the boy scored the winning goal in what was literally the final minute of the game, and was subsequently mobbed on the field by his teammates.

Good, good stuff. He was very excited and we were very proud of him.

Other than that, we've been busy trying to complete the school year while dealing with hellish temperatures and no A/C, save for a wall rattler in the kitchen. We currently have more fans in our house than the Altamont Pass.

It was 99 at our house on Friday...and we're talking Portland, OR here, not Phoenix, AZ. It's that damn global warming, isn't it? Where's Al Gore...I want a word with him!

Al's holed up in his air-conditioned hummer getting a mansion.

Wait, reverse that.

Joe, even when you are in a slump, you're still entertaining...looking forward to this friday's haiku. Stay cool.

congrats to the boy. Yep, hotter than hell in L.A. too.
Good for Al Gore...he really knows how to keep cool ;)

JK - Thanks. Now I never said the Friday Haiku would become a regular thing. But we'll see.

Mom - thanks. yea, he was pretty stoked. Thankfully tonight is a LITTLE cooler, not much but a slight breeze up north. And yes, good for Al, just hope it wasn't Tipper.;)

highs in the 80's here this week. it's actually warm for the first time in months. remind me how miserable i was in the freezing cold this past winter when i start complaining about the heat. because i will complain. you can be sure of that!

Natalie - I have to say that the heat bothers me more than the cold. I like it around 70-75. But I'll be sure to mention it if you start to bitch.
