Joys of Parenting

Let's talk about parenting –that never-ending roller coaster ride of fun and frivolity.

There are many joys to parenting; all of those "firsts," watching them grow, having them curl up in your lap to read a book, watching them sleep, enjoying their successes as if they were our own and perhaps someday seeing them marry and start families of their own.

Yes, yes, all wonderful stuff, I'll agree. But today I'd like to discuss one of the true joys of parenting, a little something I like to refer to as "Intentional Annoyance."

ok...by the time i got to the part about how you annoy your son with your swallowing i was laughing so hard i choked. yep...i couldn't swallow properly at all. then i tried to read it to brian and was laughing so hard he had to read it himself, because he couldn't understand what i was saying. yeah...you are a funny guy.

That's why they pay me the big bucks and let me where the RED paper hat.

Thanks Natalie.

Joe, you're hysterical...I have loved doing this to my kids for years...I just didn't know it actually had an official name, "intentional annoyance".
Thanks for enlightening me.
Oh, and thanks for the comment on Neil's blog.

That's funny. I always do that threatening to tell the waiters it's their birthday thing. They hate it! Ha ha ha. Weird how things pop up in bunches; I had just commented that same thing on Jeff's View from the Cloud blog a couple weeks ago...

I do this. OH yea.. he is only five so most of the time he joins in... which is actually kind of fun for me. but someday... i will get to annoy him in public. I started practicing on Saturday at the fair by dancing around. ha!

It only gets better, Melanie.
