R.I.P.

Brad_delpBrad Delp

1951-2007

While doing some research on the death of John Inman, I discovered that Brad Delp, sensational lead singer for the 1970's band Boston, had been found dead in his Atkinson, NH home. Details are unknown at this time.

Boston had but six albums, one of which was a greatest hits offering, but none reached the level of their 1976 debut album, Boston.  When CD's first began to take off back in the mid-late 80's, Boston was one of the first CD's I purchased (along with Led Zeppelin IV ). One of the unique things about Boston is that every song on that album is good. There's not a clunker in the bunch.

Currently, the official Boston website reads simply "We've just lost the nicest guy in rock and roll"

Update 3-15-07

Brad Delp committed suicide by carbon monoxide poisoning, sealing himself in his bathroom with two gas grills. Another sad tale; rich, famous, talented and yet it's still not enough. How many of us have thought, "If only?" And then we read about those for whom it's no longer an "if" and yet they are still unhappy. Sad indeed.
